From Boston (approx 160 miles) and points East

Take Massachusetts Route 2 West to Interstate 91 North. From Interstate 91, exit onto Vermont Route 9 West . Stay on Route 9 into Bennington. Turn right at the main intersection in downtown Bennington onto Vermont Route 7 North. Keep following signs for Route 7 North through Bennington. Take exit 3 for Arlington. Turn left off of ramp onto access road (Route 313). The access road dead-ends at Historic Route 7a. Turn right onto Route 7a North. Drive approximately 1.5 miles into the village of Arlington. Turn left onto Route 313. Drive for approximately 1/2 mile. Turn left onto River Road (dirt road). Go over the bridge and take an immediate left. Go all the way up the hill – you have arrived at the West Mountain Inn!

From the AlbanyCountyAirport (approx 60 miles) and New York City (approx 200 miles) and points South

- From the Albany International Airport: Take Interstate 87 North (the Northway) to NY Route 7 East.
- From New York City and Points South: Take Interstate 87 North (New York Thruway) to Interstate 787 North to Albany, then exit to NY Route 7 East at Troy. 


Just before Vermont border NY Route 7 East becomes Vermont Route 279 East. Stay on Route 279 and follow the signs to Rutland and Vermont Route 7 North. Stay on Vermont Route 7 North for about 13 miles. Take exit 3 for Arlington. Turn left off of ramp onto access road (Route 313). The access road dead-ends at Historic Route 7a. Turn right onto Route 7a North. Drive approximately 1.5 miles into the village of Arlington. Turn left onto Route 313. Drive for approximately 1/2 mile. Turn left onto River Road (dirt road). Go over the bridge and take an immediate left. Go all the way up the hill – you have arrived at the West Mountain Inn!
